Spiculisporic acid is a γ-butenolide isolated from the cultue of Aspergillus sp[1]. Spiculisporic acid is a microbial biosurfactant and has anti-oxidative stress actions[2]. In Vitro: Spiculisporic acid is a microbial biosurfactant with a unique long chainfatty acid carrying two carboxylic moieties and a lactonering. Spiculisporic acid is nontoxic in the envi-ronment and has anti-oxidative stress actions in biolocal systems by means of the yeast DNA microarray bioassay[2].
