Introduction of 458-35-5 :

Coniferyl alcohol is an orally active lignin biosynthesis intermediate and antifungal agent. Coniferyl alcohol specifically inhibits the growth of fungi (Verticillium longisporum). Coniferyl alcohol inhibits the growth of Nicotiana benthamiana seedlings. Coniferyl alcohol improves cardiac dysfunction in renovascular hypertension and cardiac inflammation[1][2][3][4]. IC50 & Target:Fungal[1] In Vitro:Coniferyl alcohol (10-100 μM) inhibits the growth of Verticillium longisporum up to 20% (10 μM) and up to 30% (100 μM)[2].
Coniferyl alcohol (0.5-2 mM) reduces the growth of tobacco BY-2 cells in a concentration-dependent manner, with the effect being a prolonged lag phase[3].
Coniferyl alcohol (0.5-5 mM; 9 days) reduces the growth of Nicotiana benthamiana seedlings in a dose-dependent manner and causes the formation of a lignin-like compound in the roots[3].
Coniferyl alcohol (50 μM; 24 h) significantly alleviates the decreased viability of H9C2 cells caused by Ang II (HY-13948)[4].
In Vivo:Coniferyl alcohol (20-40 mg/kg; i.g.; once daily; 3 weeks) reduces systolic and diastolic blood pressures, alleviates cardiac inflammation and hypertrophy in 2K1C mice with renovascular hypertension[4].
