Introduction of 443-72-1 :

N6-Methyladenine is a DNA epigenetic modification that involves the addition of a methyl group to the sixth position of adenine. N6-Methyladenine plays an important role in distinguishing host DNA from exogenous DNA and controls many biological functions, such as DNA replication, transcription, mismatch repair, and chromosome replication. N6-Methyladenine can be used for the kidney diseases[1][2]. In Vitro:N6-methyladenine is the most common internal epigenetic modification in eukaryotic mRNA and regulates its dynamic and reversible process through three classes of enzymes: methyltransferases (writers), demethylases (erasers), and methylation recognition proteins (readers). N6-methyladenine plays a central role in key biological processes such as RNA splicing, stability, translocation, and translation. N6-methyladenine is involved in physiological processes such as nervous system development. N6-methyladenine affects the pathogenesis of acute kidney injury (AKI, such as ischemia-reperfusion-induced AKI, cisplatin-induced AKI), acute kidney disease (AKD), and chronic kidney disease (CKD, such as diabetic kidney disease, lupus nephritis, autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease) by regulating target genes (e.g., Foxd1, YAP1, TAB3, Sirt1) and related signaling pathways (e.g., PI3K/Akt, ERK/NF-κB, NLRP3 inflammasome)[1][2].
