(-)-Penbutolol ((S)-Penbutolol) is a potent β-adrenoceptor and 5-HT receptor antagonist with Ki values of 11.6 nM and 11.9 nM for 5-HT in rat cornu ammonis 1 (CA1) and human CA3[1][2]. IC50 & Target:β-adrenoceptor, 5-HT receptor[1][2] In Vivo:(-)-Penbutolol (0.1-2.4 mg/kg, iv, single dose) inhibits 5-HT cell discharge, enhances the effect of Paroxetine (HY-122272) on the elevation of 5-HT levels in rats models[3].
