Introduction of 3768-18-1 :

N4-acetylcytidine (N4A) is an endogenous nucleoside metabolite from the degradation of tRNA. N4-Acetylcytidine is formed by N-acetyltransferase 10 and other enzymes. N4-acetylcytidine might sustain NLRP3 inflammasome activation via induction of HMGB1 expression and releasee. N4-Acetylcytidine modifies mRNA, tRNA and rRNA, affecting their stability, translation efficiency (such as enterovirus 71 RNA). N4-Acetylcytidine is used in the study of cancer, neuroinflammatory diseases, viral infections and obesity[1][2][3][4][5]. In Vitro:N4-Acetylcytidine modification promotes the processing of pri-miRNA into pre-miRNA[1].
N4-Acetylcytidine (0.3-2.0 mM, 3-48 h) inhibits the growth of BV2 microglia and enhances expression of HMGB1 in BV2 cells[2].
N4-Acetylcytidine modification enhances the translation efficiency of EV71 RNA and promotes the binding of PCBP2 to IRES[3].
In Vivo:N4-Acetylcytidine mutation prolongs the survival time of mice infected with EV71, alleviates limb paralysis symptoms, reduces the level of viral RNA in various organs, and alleviates pathological damage[3].
