3-Phenoxybenzoic acid is the metabolite of pyrethroid insecticides. 3-Phenoxybenzoic acid induces immunotoxicity and oxidative stress, and inhibits the phagocytic ability of macrophages[1].
In Vitro:3-Phenoxybenzoic acid (25-100 μM, 48 h) inhibits the cell viability of mouse macrophages RAW 264.7 and induces cell apoptosis (with a low apoptosis rate of ca. 7%)[1].
3-Phenoxybenzoic acid (0-100 μM, 12 h) inhibits LPS (HY-D1056)-induced mRNA expression of proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, CXCL-1, TNF-α, IL-6, IFN-β), promotes the ROS generation in RAW 264.7, affecting the immunotoxicity and oxidative stress[1].
