ZAPA sulfate is an agonist at low affinity GABAA-receptors. ZAPA sulfate induces membrane hyperpolarization of the Ascaris muscle cell with an EC50 of 10.3 μM[1][2]. In Vitro: Local applications of ZAPA (100 μM) sulfate transiently increases [Ca2+]i, similar to the GABA-evoked responses[1].
