Perfluorohexane (AF-0150) is a perfluorocarbon. Perfluorohexane is also an enhancer of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy. Perfluorohexane increases HO-1 and IL-10. Perfluorohexane exerts an antioxidant effect. Perfluorohexane alleviates lung injury induced by LPS (HY-D1056A1). Perfluorohexane improves the efficiency and precision of treatment and reduces damage to surrounding normal tissues. Perfluorohexane can be used in the study of acute lung injury[1][2][3].
In Vitro:Perfluorohexane (12-36 h) shows no cytotoxicity to human mesothelial cells, does not induce cell activation, and does not significantly affect the expression of cell adhesion molecules ICAM-1, VCAM-1 and surfactant protein A[1].
In Vivo:Perfluorohexane (10 mL/kg; i.p.; every 2 h) attenuates Lipopolysaccharide (HY-D1056A1)-induced lung injury in rats[3].
