(-)-Gallocatechin, an epimer of (-)-Epigallocatechin (EGC) (HY-N0225), is contained in various tea products. (-)-Gallocatechin demonstrates antioxidant activity in vitro, including inhibition of LDL oxidation and DPPH radical scavenging[1][2][3].
In Vitro:(-)-Gallocatechin (10-40 μM, 0-8 h) inhibits the production of thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) in Cu+2 mediated oxidation of human LDL[2].
(-)-Gallocatechin (10-40 μM, 10 min) exhibits antioxidant activity in the Ferric reducing-antioxidant power (FRAP) assay[2].
(-)-Gallocatechin (5 μM, 90 min) exhibits DPPH radical scavenging activity at 5 μM[2].
