L-Alanyl-L-leucine is a competitive inhibitor of small intestinal glycyl-L-leucine hydrolase with Ki values of 0.53 mM (phosphate buffer) or 0.22 mM (Tris buffer). L-Alanyl-L-leucine can be used for research on Hartnup disease and cystinuria[1]. In Vitro:L-Alanyl-L-leucine (0.5-20 mM; 5 min) is hydrolyzed by purified monkey small-intestinal glycyl-L-leucine hydrolase with a Km of 1 mM (phosphate buffer) or 0.44 mM (Tris buffer) and acts as a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme's activity toward glycyl peptides with a Ki of 0.53 mM (phosphate buffer) or 0.22 mM (Tris buffer)[1].
