20S-protopanaxadiol (aPPD) is a metabolite of ginseng saponins, inhibits Akt activity and induces apoptosis in various tumor cells[1]. In Vitro: 20S-protopanaxadiol treatment upregulates the flotillin-1 level in the rafts of N2a cells to 142.91±10.71% of the control. 20S-protopanaxadiol can have an opposite effect on raft resident protein flotillin-1, depending on the cell type[1].
