Centrolobol is a diarylheptane compound with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which exists in the fermented stems of Alnus sibirica. Centrolobol scavenges DPPH free radicals and inhibits the production of NO in LPS-stimulated immune cells. Centrolobol can be used in studies related to anti-inflammation and antioxidation[1].
In Vitro:Centrolobol (compound 12) inhibits nitric oxide production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells, with an IC50 value of 27.77 μM[1].
Centrolobol inhibits the production of DPPH, with an IC50 value of 44.4 μM[1].
