2,6-Dihydroxybenzoic acid is an aromatic compound containing phenolic hydroxyl groups and carboxyl groups, and it is a secondary metabolite of Salicylic acid (HY-B0167). 2,6-Dihydroxybenzoic acid is also present in olive oil wastewater[1][2]. In Vitro:The biological activity of 2,6-Dihydroxybenzoic acid is relatively weak, but the complexes formed by it and divalent Ni/Co ions perform excellently in terms of DPPH radical scavenging and inhibiting microbial growth[1].
