Lavofloxacin lactate ((-)-ofloxacin lactate) is a class of broad-spectrum antimicrobials that can kill or inhibit a variety of bacteria. Lavofloxacin lactate binds to DNA rotase and topoisomerase IV, resulting in blocked DNA replication and repair, thus inhibiting bacterial growth.
