Introduction of 283159-90-0 :

Valifenalate (IR5885; Valiphenal) is an insecticide agent and fungicide, which is approved for application on high-value crops such as grapes, tomatoes and other vegetables. Valifenalate interferes with cell-wall synthesisValifenalate is effective against various types of mildew. Valifenalate can be used against crown rot of rose cuased by Phytophthora citrophthora. Valifenalate induces non-adverse thyroid changes via adaptive induction of uridine 5’-diphosphoglucuronosyltransferase (UGT) in the liver of dogs and rats[1][2][3]. In Vitro:Valifenalate (100-300 μM) induces UGT2B31 mRNA expression with the maximal effect observed at the highest concentration and the expression levels being the highest on day 6, whilst increasing UGT1A6 mRNA expression by approximately 2-fold in dog hepatocytes[3]. In Vivo:Valifenalate (0-1000 mg/kg, p.o., daily for 52 w) has signs of general toxicity, including slightly increased incidence of yellow staining in the perigenital area in high-dose females Wistar rats[3].
Valifenalate (50-750 mg/kg, p.o., 13 w) increases the body weight adjusted thyroid/parathyroid weights in male dogs[3].
Valifenalate (50-250 mg/kg, p.o., 52 w) results in minimal or slight follicular cell hypertrophy in Beagle dogs[3].
