Perfluoropentanoic acid exhibits certain toxicity to mice[1][2]. In Vitro:Perfluoropentanoic acid can significantly affect the structure and spatial distribution of planktonic microbial communities and may threaten water quality through microbial metabolism[1]. In Vivo:Perfluoropentanoic acid (1.25-5% w/v; topical administration; 28 days) can cause liver damage, skin inflammation, immune cell activation and abnormal expression of related genes in mice[2].
