Introduction of 2650-18-2 :

Acid blue 9 diammonium is a triarylmethane dye and inducer. Acid blue 9 diammonium induces chromosomal aberrations in onion root tip meristematic cells. Acid blue 9 diammonium exhibits cytogenetic toxicity to onion root tip meristematic cells[1]. In Vitro:Acid blue 9 (diammonium) (200-350 mg/L; 48-72 h) is aerobically decolorized by Bacillus fermus up to 99% at 200 mg/L after 48 h, with degradation into four low-molecular-weight metabolites, and decolorization efficiency decreases at higher dye concentrations (300 and 350 mg/L) after 72 h incubation with 3 g/L sucrose and 2% v/v inoculum[1].
