1-Boc-3-iodoazetidine acts as a bifunctional additive for lithium-oxygen (Li-O2) batteries and can be used to enhance the performance of Li-O2 batteries. 1-Boc-3-iodoazetidine is applied in the synthesis of C3-functionalized azetidines and C2-functionalized azetidines via a lithium/iodine exchange or β-elimination/lithiation reaction sequence[1][2]. In Vitro:1-Boc-3-iodoazetidine can form lithium iodide and lithium-based organometallic protective layers on the surface of lithium metal, maintain a flat, dendrite-free surface of the lithium anode after 60 cycles, and prevent the pores of the cathode from being blocked[1].
