6,7-Dimethyl-8-ribityllumazine is a direct biosynthetic precursor of Riboflavin (RBF; HY-B0456). 6,7-Dimethyl-8-ribityllumazine is a noncovalently bound fluorophore of Lumazine protein (LumP), which is a fluorescent accessory protein[1]. In Vitro: LumP modulates the color of light generated by bacterial luciferase only when it is complexed with 6,7-Dimethyl-8-ribityllumazine (DMRL)[1].
