Dibotermin alpha (rhBMP-2) is a homodimer that is used clinically to form bone when implanted with appropriate carriers, and the protein in combination with implantable carriers has been approved for use in spinal surgery, fracture repair and certain dental and maxillofacial indications. Dibotermin alpha (rhBMP-2) play an important role on gastrulation, establishment of left-right symmetry, and organo genesis (heart formation, neural induction and differentiation of neural tissues, skeletogenesis, and limb[1][2].
In Vitro: Dibotermin alpha (rhBMP-2) can pretreat extracted human teeth in vitro osteogenic dierentiation[3]
