3-Butynoic acid is an inhibitor of acyl CoA dehydrogenase. 3-Butynoic acid is a click chemistry reagent, it contains an Alkyne group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) with molecules containing Azide groups. 3-Butynoic acid can reduce the formation of propionate and acrylic acid concentration-dependently[1].
In Vitro:3-Butynoic acid (2-10 mM) can markedly reduce concentration of acrylic acid in a concentration-dependent manner[1].
3-Butynoic acid (0-10 mM) can significantly reduce concentration of propionic acid in a concentration-dependent manner[1].
