Procodazole is an orally active enhancer and a non-specific active immune protector against viral and bacterial infections. Procodazole also exhibits antiparasitic activity. In addition, Procodazole is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor with antitumor activity[1][2]. In Vitro:Procodazole (8.35 μM, 90 min) exerts its antitumor activity by inhibiting carbonic anhydrase IX, with an IC50 of 8.35 μM[2]. In Vivo:Procodazole (50 mg per dog, p.o., once daily for 28 days) can significantly reduce the parasite burden in Beagles infected with Toxocara canis and enhance their resistance to Toxocara canis infection[1].
