CHF-2993 is an orally active anticonvulsant. CHF-2993 antagonizes Bicuculline (HY-N0219)- and Picrotoxin (HY-101391)-induced tonic convulsions in mice, shows no activity against Pentylenetetrazole-induced clonic convulsions in mice, and partially reduces Veratridine (HY-N6691)-induced aspartate efflux in rat cortical synaptosomes. CHF-2993 can be used in the research of epilepsy[1].
In Vivo:CHF-2993 (Compound 49) (multiple doses; p.o.) exhibits anticonvulsant activity against maximal electroshock-induced tonic seizures in male CD-1 mice with an ED50 of 36 mg/kg (oral) and a low neurotoxic profile with a TD50 of 1172 mg/kg[1].
CHF-2993 (Compound 49) (multiple doses; p.o.) protects against bicuculline-induced tonic seizures in male CD-1 mice with an oral ED50 of 65 mg/kg[1].
CHF-2993 (Compound 49) (multiple doses; p.o.) protects against picrotoxin-induced tonic seizures in male CD-1 mice with an oral ED50 of 14 mg/kg[1].
