Bilastine is an oral histamine H1-receptor antagonist. Bilastine can be used for allergic rhinitis and urticaria studies, and it also improves diabetic nephropathy in mice, showing safety for the central nervous system[1][2][3][4].
In Vivo:Bilastine (0-2000 mg/kg, orally, once a day, for 8-52 weeks) shows good toxicity in Beagle dogs, rats, and mice[2].
Bilastine (1-30 mg/kg, i.g., once a day, for 14 weeks) preserves the integrity of glomerular connections in diabetic mice and improves diabetic nephropathy[3].
