Elocalcitol (BXL-628), a vitamin D analogue, is a selective, orally active vitamin D receptor (VDR) agonist. Elocalcitol shows anti-inflammatory activity. Elocalcitol inhibits growth of prostate cancer cells[1][2].
In Vitro:Elocalcitol (BXL-628) (0.00-10 nM; 24-48 h) is able to inhibit both proliferation and invasion of DU145 cells[2].
Elocalcitol (10 nM; 8 h) inhibits KGFR autotransphosphorylation and downstream PI3K/AKT activation[2].
In Vivo:Elocalcitol (100 μg/kg; p.o.; once a day; for 14-28 days) inhibits lesion development in a mouse model of endometriosis, and exerts a protective effect on both the implantation and organization of transferred endometrial tissue[1].
