AM-36 is a neuroprotective agent with combined antioxidant and sodium channel blocking actions. AM-36 can inhibit cell apoptosis and ROS prodiction. AM-36 can reduce neuronal damage and DA release after middle cerebral artery occlusion in rats. AM-36 can be used for the researches of inflammation and neurological disease, such as stroke[1][2][3].
In Vitro:AM-36 (0.01-10 μM) completely inhibits Veratridine (HY-N6691)-induced toxicity (IC50 = 1.5-1.9 μM) and inhibits apoptosis in cerebellar granule cells[2].
In Vivo:AM-36 (6 mg/kg, i.p., 30-180 mins after MCAO) reduces neuronal damage in middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) rats[1].
