Thyrotropin alfa (rhTSH) is a recombinant human Thyrotropin (TSH), possessing the properties and action of native TSH. Thyrotropin alfa can stimulate the uptake of radioiodine for whole body scan (WBS) of thyroid cancer. TSH is a thyroid-stimulating hormone produced by thyrotrope cells in the anterior pituitary gland, regulating the endocrine function of the thyroid[1].
