Tenecteplase (TNK-tPA) is a modified tissue plasminogen activator. Tenecteplase is a recombinant human tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) that has been bioengineered to produce mutations in three gene loci. Tenecteplase (TNK-tPA) can be used in the study of acute ischemic stroke[1][2]. In Vitro:Tenecteplase exhibits relatively slight cytotoxicity to neuronal cells compared to its parent compound Alteplase (HY-108865)[3]. In Vivo:Tenecteplase (0.25-2.5 mg/kg, iv, single dose) reduces infarct volume when administered in the first 30 minutes, ameliorates thrombin-induced ischemic thromboembolism in mouse model[3].
