Pipamperone (Floropipamide) is a butyrophenone derivative and high-affinity antagonist of 5-HT2A receptor (pKi=8.2) and D4 receptor (pKi=8.0). Pipamperone is also a low-affinity antagonist of D2 receptor (pKi=6.7). Pipamperone affects neurotransmitter functions and exerts antipsychotic activity. Pipamperone is used in the research of mental disorders such as autism-related behavioral disorders and Alzheimer's disease[1][2][3][4].
IC50 & Target:pKi : 8.2 (5-HT2A receptor), 8.0 (D4 receptor), 6.7 (D2 receptor), 7.2 (α1 receptor), 6.9 (5-HT2C receptor), 5.7 (H1 receptor)[1]
In Vitro:Pipamperone (0.01 nM-10 μM; 20 min) completely inhibits 5-HT (HY-B1473A)-induced Inositol phosphate formation in NIH 3T3 cells stably expressing the rat 5-HT2A or 5-HT2C receptor[2].
