Brevifolincarboxylic acid is a phenolic compound. Brevifolincarboxylic acid can be isolated from Duchesnea chrysantha. Brevifolincarboxylic acid inhibits α-glucosidase with an IC50 value of 323.46 μM. Brevifolincarboxylic acid has an inhibitory effect on the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR). Brevifolincarbacid scavenges ROS. Brevifolincarbacid restores the glucose uptake activity of myotubes. Brevifolincarboxylic acid has antitumor activity against lung and gastric cancer. Brevifolincarbacid can be used in the study of diabetes and inflammatory diseases[1][2][3][4][5][6].

In Vitro:Brevifolincarboxylic acid (0.5-10 μg/mL; 2 h for glucose uptake experiment) restores the reduced glucose uptake activity caused by free fatty acid (FFA) treatment and has significant ROS scavenging activity in C2C12 myotubes[4].
Brevifolincarboxylic acid (0.5-50 μg/mL, 4 days) inhibits the survival of human lung adenocarcinoma cell line PC14 and human gastric adenocarcinoma cell line MKN45 in a dose-dependent manner[5].
