Colfosceril miristate (DMPC) is a synthetic phospholipid. Colfosceril miristate has antiproliferative effects on various tumors. Colfosceril miristate is used to study lipid monolayers, bilayers and drug delivery[1][2][3].
In Vitro:Colfosceril miristate (20 mM) stabilizes Carmofur at neutral pH (pH= 5-8)[2].
Colfosceril miristate (0.08-250 μM, 72 h) shows cytotoxicity on monolayer tumor cell lines SHSY-5Y, MDA-MB-435s and HT-1080, with IC50s of 214, 231 and 20 μM[2].
Colfosceril miristate (12 h) distinctly enhances the ability of nanoparticles to enter PC-12 cells[3].
In Vivo:Colfosceril miristate (DMPC/PVP-SPIONs solution, 1 mg/mL, 10 μL, injected into the left side of the substantia nigra) could promote the diffusion of SPIONs from the substantia nigra to nearby brain regions in SD rats[3].
