In Vitro:D-N-Acetylgalactosamine is a cell surface glycosylation residue, and participate in the cell-cell/cell-matrix interaction as a recognition site for cell surface receptors[1].
D-N-Acetylgalactosamine binds to the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR) on hepatocytes via the terminal glycosylated protein, affects the interaction between apoptotic extracellular vesicles (apoEVs) and ASGPR, blocks the internalization of apoEVs, thereby blocking the regulatory effect of apoEVs on the liver, affecting liver homeostasis and regeneration[1].
