Eptapirone fumarate (F11440 fumarate) is a potent, selective and orally active 5-HT1A receptor agonist (pKi = 8.33). Eptapirone fumarate can inhibit cAMP production. Eptapirone fumarate can reduce 5-HT levels and increase corticosterone levels. Eptapirone fumarate shows potent anxiolytic and antidepressant potential. Eptapirone fumarate can be used for the research of neurological disease, such as anxiety and depression[1].
In Vitro:Eptapirone fumarate decreases the Forskolin (HY-15371)-induced stimulation of cAMP with an pEC50 value of 6.8 in HeLa cells[1].
In Vivo:Eptapirone fumarate (0.16-640 mg/kg, p.o., a single dose) produces anxiolytic- and antidepressant-like effects in anxiety and depression rats models[1].
Eptapirone fumarate (0.01-0.63 mg/kg, i.p.) reduces 5-HT levels in microdialysates from the ventral hippocampus of rats[1].
Eptapirone fumarate (0.0063-160 mg/kg, p.o.) increases plasma corticosterone levels in rats[1].
