Clorgyline hydrochloride is an irreversible and selective inhibitor of monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) that is used in scientific research, structurally related to Pargyline (HY-A0091A). Clorgyline hydrochloride has little effect on the amounts of conjugated dopamine (DA) present in superfusate of slices from rat striatum. Clorgyline hydrochloride contains an Alkyne group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) with molecules containing Azide groups[1][2][3].
In Vivo:Clorgyline hydrochloride (2 mg/kg, infuse, daily for 28 days) increases Nicotine infusions and shows an increased level of motivation to obtain Nicotine similarly in low responder and high responder rats than vehicle-treated rats[2].
Clorgyline hydrochloride (1mg/kg, i.v., pretreated for 1 h) pretreatment has little effect on the efflux of conjugated dopamine (DA) and p-tyramine-evoked release of conjugated DA from slices of rat striatum[3]。
