Nitidanin ((±)-Nitidanin) is an antimalarial and antiviral compound that can be isolated from the wood of Xanthoxylum nitidun D. C. Nitidanin is shows IC50 values of 21.2 and 18.4 μM for D6 and W2 clones of Plasmodium falciparum, respectively. Nitidanin can be used for the research of malaria and virus infection[1][2]. In Vitro:Nitidanin shows inhibitory effects to D6 and W2 clones of Plasmodium falciparum with IC50 values of 21.2 and 18.4 μM, respectively[1]. Nitidanin shows noncytotoxic effects to human oral epidermoid carcinoma (KB) cells with an EC50 value ＞99 μM[1]. Nitidanin shows low cytotoxic effect to human hepatoma Huh7.5.1 cells with an CC50 value of 464.4 μM[2]. Nitidanin (0-250 μM; 5 hours) shows anti-HCV activity with an IC50 value of 200 μM[2].
