Urocortin, rat

Urocortin, rat (Urocortin (Rattus norvegicus)) is a neuropeptide and a potent endogenous CRFR agonist with K_is of 13 nM, 1.5 nM, and 0.97 nM for human CRF₁, rat CRF_2α and mouse CRF_2β, respectively^[1][2]. IC50 & Target:Ki: 0.32 nM (hCRF1), 2.2 nM (rCRF2α), and 0.62 nM (mCRF2β)^[1] In Vitro: Urocortin, rat induces cyclic AMP (cAMP) generation with EC₅₀ of 0.15 nM, 0.063 nM, and 0.087 nM for human CRF₁, rat CRF_2α and mouse CRF_2β, respectively in stably transfected Chinese hamster ovary cells^[2]. In Vivo: Urocortin, rat (0.01 to 10 μg) decreases food intake in both food-deprived and non-deprived rats and such an effect also observed in mice after 1 μg of Urocortin, rat i.c.v. administration. Urocortin, rat has the potential of inducing anxiogenic behavior^[3].
