7-Dehydro desmosterol is a sterol and an intermediate in cholesterol biosynthesis, which is found in the marine diatom Pseudo-nitzschia multistriata and the nervous system of rodents[1][2]. In Vivo:Levels of 7-Dehydro desmosterol are decreased in the whole brain of trembler and trembler demyelinating mutant mice; they are significantly reduced in the sciatic nerves of trembler mice, and completely undetectable in the sciatic nerves of shaker mice[2].
