PKR activator 3 (Compound 160) is a red blood cell pyruvate kinase (PKR) activator. PKR activator 3 can be used in the research of diseases related to PKR function, such as pyruvate kinase deficiency (PKD)[1]. IC50 & Target:PKR[1] In Vitro:PKR is encoded by the PKLR gene and is present in red blood cells. Certain mutations (such as R510Q, R532W, R479H, etc.) can lead to decreased enzyme activity, reduced thermal stability, or loss of FBP response, causing pyruvate kinase deficiency (PKD), which manifests as chronic hemolytic anemia, shortened red blood cell lifespan, and accumulation of 2,3-DPG, etc.[1].
