Napsagatran (Ro 46-6240) hydrate is a potent thrombin inhibitor. Napsagatran hydrate exhibits anticoagulant effects in vitro and in vivo. Napsagatran hydrate can be used in antithrombotic research[1][2].
In Vitro:Napsagatran (10 μg/kg/min) hydrate reduces platelet-rich thrombus formation in an ex vivo perfusion chamber model[1].
In Vivo:Napsagatran (3-10 μg/kg/min) hydrate significantly prevents coronary artery occlusion and reduces intracoronary thrombus formation in a canine model of electrically induced arterial thrombosis[1].
Napsagatran (10 μg/kg/min, i.v., infusion for 240 minutes) hydrate significantly reduces thrombus associated fibrin in rabbits[2].
