Dexketoprofen trometamol (Dexketoprofen tromethamine salt) is an orally active non-selective COX inhibitor. Dexketoprofen trometamol has a pain-relieving effect, anti-inflammatory effect and anti-cancer effect[1][2][3][4][5]. In Vitro:Dexketoprofen (3.125-800 μg/mL, 24 or 48 hours) significantly inhibits the viability of HeLa, HT-29, and MCF-7 cells, demonstrating anticancer activity[4]. In Vivo:Dexketoprofen (50, 70, 100 mg/kg, s.c., single dose) effectively prevents hyperalgesia (refers to abnormally increased sensitivity to pain stimuli) in a postoperative pain mouse model and inhibits microglial activation[3]. Dexketoprofen trometamol (7 mg/kg, applied topically as a transdermal gel, single dose) significantly reduces inflammation and oxidative stress in a xylene-induced ear edema rat model[5].
