Licostinel is a potent competitive NMDA antagonist, with Kb value ranged between 5 and 8 in oocyte and neuronal cells. Licostinel can reduce cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and has antidepressant activity, Licostinel and can be used for Neurological Disease study[1][2][3].
In Vivo:Licostinel (5-10 mg/kg for a single i.p. bolus continuous infusion of 3.5-7.05 mg/kg/h for 6 h) decreases infarct size in both transient and permanent models of middle cerebral artery occlusion in rats and mice[2].
Licostinel (20-80 mg/kg for i.v.bolus 7 mg/kg/h bolus continuous infusion, 30 min) reduces the rate of spreading depression in the brain and EEG activity in a dose-dependent manner[3].
