AC-186 is a selective non-steroidal estrogen receptor β (ERβ) agonist with EC50s of 6 nM and 5000 nM for ERβ and ERα, respectively. AC-186 shows gender selective neuroprotective effects in a male rat model of Parkinson's disease[1]. In Vitro:AC-186 (10 μM; 72 h) inhibits growth of LNCaP cells, and has no effect on PC3 cells[1]. In Vivo:AC-186 (10 mg/kg; s.c.; once) exhibits gender selective neuroprotective effects in a male rat model of Parkinson's disease[1].
