Introduction of 139-88-8 :

Sodium tetradecyl sulfate (Tergitol 4) is a novel scleroembolic agent and an apoptosis inducer. Sodium tetradecyl sulfate can be used for research on varicose veins and vascular malformation diseases[1][2][3].
In Vitro: Sodium tetradecyl sulfate induces endothelial activation and release of endothelial particles in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC)[1].
Sodium tetradecyl sulfate can increase the expression of activation markers CD54 and CD62e in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC), promoting HUVEC cell activation[1].
Sodium tetradecyl sulfate inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis in mouse endothelial tumor (EOMA) cells[1].
In Vivo: Sodium tetradecyl sulfate (5 mL CH–STS; Intratumoral injection) can reduce type I leakage in bilateral iliac aneurysm models after forming gel (CH-STS) with chitosan[2].
Sodium tetradecyl sulfate (0.3 mL 1% STS; 30 days; i.v.) induces muscle inflammatory response in rats and has a vein blocking effect in the femoral vein[3].
Sodium tetradecyl sulfate (0.5 mL 1% STS; s.c.) can cause exudative skin necrosis in rats[4].
Sodium tetradecyl sulfate (0.2 mL of liquid STS 1% or 0.2 mL STS 1% sclerosing foam; i.v.) promotes the release of endothelin in rats and may lead to vascular spasm and cause neurological disorders[5].
