BIM187 is a Bombesin Receptor agonist that induces satiety. BIM187 significantly reduces short-term food intake in rats, but does not alter the total 6 h food intake of rats. BIM187 can be used in studies related to feeding behavior and satiety regulation in rats[1]. In Vivo:BIM187 (0.5-32 μg/kg; i.p.; single dose) induces significant satiety in rats by reducing 30-minute food intake at doses of 4 μg/kg and above, with no effect on total 6-hour food intake, and this satiety effect is independent of CCK-mediated pathways and not antagonized by BIM189 at 20 μg/kg[1].
