Boc-L-phenylalanine is a Boc-protected L-phenylalanine that can be used in the synthesis of other active compounds. Boc-L-phenylalanine is also a capping agent[1][2]. In Vitro:Boc-L-phenylalanine, as a capping agent, can completely react with hydroxyl-terminated PLLA, and after the removal of its protecting group, amino-terminated PLLA can be generated, which is used for the synthesis of block copolymers[2].
