KBP-5074 is a novel non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonist for the treatment of cardiorenal diseases. KBP-5074 selectively bound to the MR (IC50 = 2.7 nM) and blocked the binding of aldosterone to b>MR, and KBP-5074 had little or no binding affinity to the glucocorticoid, progesterone and androgen receptors.
