Pneumocandin B0 (L-688786) is the precursor of the synthetic antifungal agent Cancidas (Caspofungin acetate) (HY-17006). Pneumocandin B0 can be isolated from fungus Glarea lozoyensis[1][2][3]. In Vitro:Pneumocandin B0 can be used as the intermediate for the synthesis of the antifungal agent Cancidas. Cancidas is an echinocandin antifungal agent that inhibits the synthesis of β-(1,3)-D-glucan in the fungal cell wall, and exhibits inhibitory activity against invasive aspergillosis and Candida infections[2][3].
