EP6 is a potent 5-Lipoxygenase (5-LO) inhibitor. EP6 inhibits the cell viability of tumor cells without mutagenic activity. EP6 can be used in research of cancer[1]. In Vitro:EP6 suppresses 5-LO activity in intact polymorphonuclear leukocytes with an IC50 value of 0.16 μM and exhibits full inhibitory potency in cell free assays (IC50 value of 0.05 μM for purified 5-LO)[1].
