Pindolol (LB-46) is the antagonist for 5-HT 1A (Ki=33 nM) and 5-HT 1B. Pindolol is the antagonist for β1/β2-adrenergic receptor. Pindolol exhibits anti-anxiety and antidepressant effects[1][2].
In Vitro:Pindolol scavenges reactive nitrogen species (RNS), such as nitric oxide (SNO) and peroxynitrite anion (ONOO-) with IC50s of 449 nM and 131 nM[2].
In Vivo:Pindolol (32 mg/kg, ip, single dose or once daily for 2 weeks) reduces the anxiety-like behavior caused by alcohol withdrawal, and improves the neurogenesis defects caused by alcohol intake in mouse models[1].
