AL-1 is a potent O2- generation inhibitor (IC50 = 7.6 μM) through the inhibition of leukocytic NADPH oxidase. AL-1 inhibits 12-O-Tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA)-induced H2O2 production. AL-1 reduces tumor incidence in ICR mouse skin. AL-1 can be used for research on oxidative stress-related diseases including cancer[1]. In Vitro:AL-1 (48 h) inhibits tumor promoter-induced Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) activation in Raji cells (IC50 = 0.5 μM) in a concentration-dependent manner[1]. In Vivo:AL-1 (16 and 160 nmol, topical application, 40 min prior to each TPA-treatment for 20 weeks) significantly reduces tumor incidence in ICR mouse skin at 160 nmol[1].
